ASN System
About
ASN (Automated Oil Loading System, “Автоматизированная система налива”) — enterprise software for managing and optimizing oil loading processes.

ASN System is a petroleum loading management system developed for use at oil stations. It includes the main interface of an ARM system (Automated Workplace System — a specialized software complex for dispatchers and operators in the oil industry that enables process management, equipment monitoring, and rapid response to emergencies).

Key features:
  • Creation and registration of waybills (TTN);
  • Oil quality assessment;
  • Event log monitoring;
  • Task initiation and control;
  • System windows for equipment management;
  • Gross and net calculations.

The system uses color-coded indicators to help dispatchers quickly understand process statuses (operational / non-operational), which is critical for safety and efficiency.

The product is available in both light and dark themes.
My role
End-to-End Product Design Solo — the only designer on the project and in the company at that time. Full design cycle: from research and UX architecture to developer handoff and testing.
Work period
+ ongoing support and development
Challenges & Goals
  • At the start of the project, there was no software that comprehensively solved the tasks of petroleum loading management.
  • Goal — design from scratch a user-friendly and intuitive system that allows dispatchers to make fast decisions and minimize errors during operations.
My contribution
  • Designed a design system and UX architecture from scratch.
  • Mapped out user scenarios;
  • Developed prototypes and final UI mockups (light and dark themes);
  • Collaborated with developers, QA specialists, and stakeholders;
  • Conducted implementation quality control;
  • Prepared the product for rollout and commercial sales.
Process
  • Research & analysis — analyzed oil station workflows, dispatcher tasks, and ARM system requirements;
  • UX Architecture — designed information architecture and user scenarios;
  • Prototyping — built interactive prototypes;
  • UI design — developed screens and color indicators, prepared light and dark themes;
  • Development Handoff — delivered mockups, reviewed builds, introduced corrections;
  • Testing — validated usability and interface correctness;
  • Product support — improvements and new features after release.
Results
  • Product designed from scratch and successfully implemented.
  • Adopted by multiple companies and still in use today.
  • Received positive feedback from users.
  • Improved dispatcher efficiency and speed of operations.
  • Project delivered on time.
  • Patent granted.
This project proved that even within tight deadlines, it is possible to design from scratch a functional and user-friendly system for a highly specialized industry.

I strengthened my skills in designing under time constraints and gained deeper insight into creating interfaces for ARM systems, where decision-making speed and clarity of information are crucial.
